People often ask me what I use to do my videos. I use a Kodak zi8 – I chose this camera because it has a mic input and most cameras these days don’t and have x2 mics – 1 that has a long cord and plugs directly in to the camera and another that works with a transmitter ( both lapel mics) – the wireless set up can be a bit of a pain in the ass with batteries, connectivity etc – I have wasted hours doing recordings only to get to the end and realize the damn mic hasn’t been working!
I don’t have time to waste on stupid thing’s like that – so got the direct plug in mic to avoid this in the future! Now I only use the wireless when I’m out and about or working with a client.
