Wanted! Women Who Want It All

October 13, 2011

Do you ever feel like you want more? For me, being a “Stay at home mum” has been a top goal since my early 20′s (I like to plan ahead), but I’m not going to sit here and tell you it’s all beer and skittles, because it’s not! Sure the positives way outweigh the negatives, but in all honesty, without my business I would be bored to tears!

I don’t know whether it’s a positive or a negative, however my concentration span only goes so far

  • playing tea parties and
  • building blocks

only keeps me amused for about 5 minutes!

My mind thrives for stimulation! I honestly think I would go nuts without my “home business”. I know this is very true for many mums who have left a thriving work environment where they have been goal orientated and have been striving to achieve in their careers.

Don’t get me wrong, I have found just being a Mum a huge enough challenge without throwing a business in to the mix, kids are HARD WORK but those delightful kisses and cuddles make it all so worth it! I wouldn’t trade my current life style for all the money in China!

I have become somewhat of a “Work From Home Ambassador” – because I want for other Women, the freedom and choice that I have.  I’m not saying it’s easy – but then I’ve learned most thing’s in life that are worth achieving seldom are.

It takes hard work, consistency and planning and can be made so much easier when you:

  • have people who have walked the path before you help light the way!

Why do thing’s the hard way, if you have people to help clarify thing’s for you and help you get on track faster? I have always paid for Business and Personal Mentors and it has definitely helped my growth!

This is the #1 reason Renee and I have created the “Her Success Summit” it’s because we know how difficult it can be as a start up business. We have a POWERFUL message to share!

  • Starting your business doesn’t have to be (and actually shouldn’t be) all that expensive – investing thousands upon thousands of dollars in to something UN-trialled and untested is not that great of an idea.
  • It can be done for very low cost at first when you know how!
  • You CAN work with your passion – I absolutely believe it’s a waste if you’re not doing something that makes your heart sing
  • You CAN attract new clients to your business for very little outlay when you know a certain few secrets
  • You CAN go from being virtually unknown to a recognized leader GLOBALLY – when you know how

It’s been done many times before and you could be the next household name!

Here is our video for the “Her Success Summit” - whether you’re just venturing in to business for the first time or whether you’re already established our event will help you gain traction and ignition in your business!

New Entrepreneur: Sick and Tired of Being Stuck?

November 24, 2010

“Are you sick and tired of feeling stuck? Do you feel frustrated but can’t gain clarity as to why?”

My journey to get to this point has been quite phenomenal. I’ve had many wounds to heal to be able to continually keep moving forward and have had to consciously stop getting in my own – my inner self saboteur is a BEAST and raises it’s ugly head still far too often for my liking! I haven’t advanced on my own; I’ve had phenomenal mentors and supporters enter my realm. The most influential person to my growth thus far has been an amazing woman named Jenny Leather. (trust me this will get good; I just wanted to give you some history).

I first contacted Jenny after reading her and husband Gary’s story in “The Secrets to Property Millionaires Exposed”- back then; hot on the real estate investing path, I approached Jen to mentor me. What has developed from that one e-mail has been something quite phenomenal. I think I was about 23 at the time and I really didn’t expect anyone to give me the time of day; but I sent e-mails and they got replies. Jen and Gary’s down to earth approach really appealed to me.

Almost 7 years on Jen and I still talk regularly; I would really like to share with you what unfolded this morning.

We ended the call with Jen saying “we should have recorded this” something we say every time – because although we never intend for this phenomenal energy and ‘magic’ to happen – it kind of just does!

I came back online approx a month ago after taking a year off to have my daughter. I am thankful for the last year, because the life lessons have been phenomenal. I have been having a fair bit of inner turmoil regarding direction since coming back online; it’s so EASY for me to look at other people’s business models and make suggestions, but when it comes to my own it kind of goes all over the place; this morning we really narrowed it down to the fact that being a ‘creative’ I see too far ahead and lose focus on the here and now – which was kind of profound for me.

Do you ever do that? Know something’s going on that’s holding you back but you do it anyway?

Yes, I know it’s the definition of insanity – that is what prompted the call this morning. Everyone has been telling me “work with your passion, do what you truly love” – in my head I just kept thinking; “I have to do whatever it takes to get from a) – being where I am now; to b) where it is I want to be – BUT I must be building a profitable business model in the process.

So how does one do such a thing?

To me, I had kind of resolved that I would just do whatever it takes, regardless of passion – no airy fairy stuff was to go on – set a goal and just do it was my mindset – but I kept getting this niggle….. that something was just not right. I know that the saying about ‘doing what you love’ isn’t a fallacy; the last business I built and became phenomenally passionate about went through the roof – so I felt it has become my mission to replicate this.

This morning Jen got me to realize the fact of the matter; that I do what I do to be able to give Jessee quality of life – a stay at home mum who is there for her – which ultimately has been my goal all along – and I’m doing just that – so for me it’s about evolution – what comes next>?

It’s now about taking a direction that doesn’t take away from what I have already achieved. Does that make sense?

I thought finding the passion was about finding the passion to work with; from a business point of view, not life – and this is where the problem was. When getting drilled to gain clarity; for me it wasn’t about the money, it wasn’t about houses or cars or material possessions but through complete overwhelm I had problems really getting clear on why I do what I do – ultimately, this morning I realized it’s for Jessee – before she was born it was to be a ‘stay at home mum’ and now that she’s here – it’s to be a ‘stay at home mum’. Although, I lost focus on that simple fact because I had once again became completely overwhelmed.

So if you’re in your business trying to find direction, passion and focus and have been struggling with it – maybe you’re looking at it from the wrong angle. Maybe what you think you want, isn’t really what you want at your core; maybe as I discovered; it’s a whole lot more simple but a whole lot grander at the same time.

Being a ‘New Entrepreneur’

My overall point for this article, is as entrepreneurs we focus on the ‘business’ aspect and lose sight of the emotional and spiritual aspect. This was my BIGGEST MISTAKE as a new entrepreneur. I totally took for granted the importance that the other components made!

Gaining success as an entrepreneur is a whole lot more involved than just smart marketing. There are many processes an entrepreneur will go through to becoming a roaring success; and this has been my greatest realization. It’s like a balancing act right; it doesn’t matter how good you get at some thing’s if you’re not aligned and balanced, the tower falls apart. It’s like building a skyscraper on quicksand.

Freedom to Be – YOU

I could write a thousand pages on my journey with Jen; but the most profound changes have come about since using the “Freedom to Be Program”.

I traveled to Melbourne when I was 6 weeks pregnant to attend Jen’s “Reclaim Your Power” event and met Jen for the first time, being welcomed in to her home by her gorgeous family – it really enlightened me and opened the doors to a “New Entrepreneur” way of thinking. It kind of scratched the surface on some massive issues and changed the way I look at business in life. I do stray from time to time though – like most ‘entrepreneurs’.

All of a sudden I felt OK to just be ‘me’ – I didn’t feel that I had anyone to impress, any rules to conform to – I could just let go and get inside my own heart and switch off my head for once. The sense of freedom was phenomenal.

My Life Was in Meltdown

When my little girl was 9 weeks old, I found myself single, living at my brother’s house – a far cry from where I thought I would be at that point in my life. I didn’t have time to feel sorry for myself – I just had to keep on keeping on but once again in complete overwhelm I felt stuck and restless. Jen suggested I try the ‘Freedom to Be’ program; she’d suggested it plenty of times before but I just didn’t have the headspace; once it arrived and I started actually using it (which took another 8 weeks) I was completely KICKING MYSELF for not beginning it sooner!

THE RESULTS WERE PROFOUND

I can’t really even explain what happened. I just took Jen’s advise and trusted it would work. All of a sudden I began to gain clarity and started making massive shifts in my life; Jen’s advise was to just trust that it would work and so I did just that. I just started using it and all of a sudden I slept better, I felt a profound amount of inner peace and calm and started to make headway and gain strength.

Once again, back in a frustrated state, I know it’s because I haven’t been using the program, when I stop (which is highly ridiculous in the first place because I know I need to do it). Talk about the ‘SECRET’ and ‘LAW OF ATTRACTION’ in ACTION – the crazy thing is; get this;

Inside the ‘Freedom to Be’ program there’s this visualization book which is an integral part of the program; I remember when Jen first told me about it – I was like “freaking artwork; how the hell will art and meditation help me” – I was skeptical to say the least; but seriously was at a point where I had nothing to lose and trusted Jen – so I just did what she said.

After my first session I rang Jen absolutely floored! The book, that ‘crazy artwork’ ahh it opened to the EXACT page I needed – like seriously, to the EXACT question I asked; I was beside myself “Jen Jen Jen Jen Jen – the CRAZIEST thing happened” I said before relaying to her what happened – she just laughed – she already knew that would happen, she didn’t tell me it would happen – I was seriously WOWED. Thinking maybe it was just chance I let it go. But then it happened AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN….!

So does the “Freedom to Be” program work? Ah yes; I will tell you what Jen told me – I don’t know why – I don’t know what – but I can tell you – it’s like the universe in action – giving you what you need to move forward. Don’t just take my word for it – there’s are plenty of other people experiencing the same phenomenal results – you can see for yourself here: ===>> Freedom to be Program – check it out here

Starting Up an Internet Business

October 1, 2010

The decision to embark in to the world of business is a big decision to make. An internet business often seems like the perfect scenario for women as they’re often looking for something home based due to having children etc at home. I think this combined with the fact that there are now so many ‘gurus’ promoting this model at seminars – means that more and more women are investing in the ‘dream’ of having an online business. I say ‘dream’ because that’s how it’s sold – all based on emotion – you see the presenters success, their own rags to riches story – and that’s it your hooked – you want what they have and being an INTELLIGENT EMPOWERED woman you decide if they can do it – you can too! Whoa mamma – I’m not telling you not to try, but I will tell you from the get go – that it’s also not THAT easy!

Now I don’t want to be a dream crusher here and I’m certainly not telling you not to try, I just want to help you be aware that it is a large process so that you don’t feel like a failure when it doesn’t all come together for you from the get go.

Here are a few tips to get you started and some things to take in to consideration:

1. You are building a BUSINESS, think of it like a business; one of the things I did when first starting out in my current business was sticker up my car and print business cards. Being in my car is like when you buy gym clothes for the first time, you know wearing them feels so great that it makes you want to work out – well my car is like that for me. When I sit in it and see my website across the front of my window it empowers me!

Kat Hudson founder of Womens Web Marketing with her car geared up to promote her business

Obviously if you’re just starting out and you’re affiliate marketing you wouldn’t do this – but when you know exactly what direction you’re taking it’s a great thing to do – it lets the world know what you’re about! If you think of what you do in a business light – then it’s impossible to ignore the hard cold facts; either you’re making money or you’re not, either your profits are higher than your losses or they’re not and if they’re not then you have to do something about it!

Your local small business centre can be a great place to get information on starting a business and will help you determine some of the key fundamental steps you may need to undertake.

2. Do your research and plan out a strategy. If you’re new to all this – then you may need to hire a coach or mentor, I may or may not be available due to my workload – but I could definitely spare you 5 minutes to make some recommendations and point you in the right direction – feel free to contact me any time via my contact form. I am going to use the plan to fail cliche here, if you don’t have a plan well then you’re planning to fail – it doesn’t have to be perfect and it doesn’t have to be long, just brief, because there’s a better than average chance once the ball starts rolling – you’re going to change strategies. Having a base plan in place however, will help you stay focused.

3. Once you decide on an angle, niche, market – give it your full attention, turn it in to your baby and don’t give up. I believe there’s no such thing as failure, only results, if your outcome isn’t the desired result you may need to adjust your strategy.

4. Structure a list of monetization strategies – I have outlined quite a few monetization strategies in my Women’s Web Marketing “7 Step Survival Guide” – if you haven’t got your copy already, I give you a free copy of this when you join my monthly newsletter – just enter your details next to my video at the top of the page and I will send it straight out to you.

Now girlfriend go hell for leather – pull it all together – your freedom depends on it. No one can do this for you – it’s a right of passage almost – you will earn your stripes as you gain success and your bank account will be living proof! I believe in you! The fact that you’re here tells me you already have what it takes! Sincerely, best of luck – make sure you drop back here – as the information I blog about will educate and inspire you to do whatever it takes!

“Do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes and you can achieve anything!”

How to start, run and GROW a 6-figure online business in just 4 hours a day

Working too hard? Struggling to get momentum? Don’t know where to start?
I have been marketing online for almost 4 years – so as you could imagine I have been exposed to a phenomenal amount of ‘net bling’ namely all the bright shiny objects that get pitched to us on a regular basis! The Lost Blueprint is a phenomenal resource created by Kyle Tully, don’t be fooled by the crazy $10 price tag or amount of pages, it is CHEAP and it is short and easy to read, but probably the most valuable resource I have sitting on my desk!

The Lost Blueprint covers all the core fundamentals to establishing an online income; inside the Blueprint Kyle discusses topis such as how to choose a market, what to sell them, how to sell to exisitnig customers as well as going through a step by step set up covering traffic, making various offers, using surveys, autoresponder sequence and blogging. He also discusses the skills and areas in which one needs to develop a disciplined approach to running their online business – he refers to these as his SUCCESS SECRETS.

It’s not that what I read in the report is new in anyway, it is the way it is simplified and put together making it EASY to take action. I had quite a few light bulb moments throughout the document and began to implement what Kyle said straight away.

CONS

I think you really need to have a sound knowledge of online marketing to make this work for you quickly, HOWEVER I believe it is the one MUST read report if you are just starting out – as if you can do what it says and avoid distractions – you will make money online a lot quicker than most – well in my humble opinion.

You can check it out for yourself by clicking on this link: Lost Blueprint

Mac Vs Windows for Internet Marketing

July 18, 2009

Here is an oldy… but it just goes to show that Mac has been doing launches since, well, me and you could barely walk! :)

This video says 3 things to me: MAC is SMARTER, MAC has always been better for design and STEVE Jobs is freaking brilliant! I WANT A ‘STEVE JOBS’ DAY – TO HONOUR THIS DEAD SET LEGEND!……..

INTERNET MARKETING WITH A MACAN HONEST REVIEW FROM AN INTERNET MARKETER WHO USES ONE
A couple of years ago when I started working on the Internet, I was allowed the privledge of buying a BRAND NEW lap top. At the time, I was torn between Mac and Toshiba.

My dismay came from not really having ever used a Mac, I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not and it was A LOT more EXPENSIVE then the Toshiba. In the end I bought the Toshiba. I had also been running an Internet Cafe so had gotten pretty good with the Techo sides of Windows programs.

“Long story short, the glorious new lap top arrived, 5 weeks later it was on Ebay, I lost $500 in the change over.”

In short, when I was starting out, I only had limited days off. Back then I spent more time at work than at home, so i really had to maximise my productivity when I was ‘at work’ ‘at home’. What happened was this…..to me WINDOWS = PAIN, FRUSTRATION, CONSISTENT CRASHING, ENDLESS VIRUSES etc etc etc – my partner Dan would come home to find me in tears, because i had spent all morning making videos and I would be running in to brick walls continuously. In the end he said to me, “if something else is going to make you happier and save you time, aren’t you better off with that…?” – pure male logic and he was right.

Now when I want to get stuff done, I do it and it’s done NO PROBLEMS EVER!

Mac runs off of different frameworks, so if something EVER does CRASH which is rarely, only that program shuts down and everything else runs per usual. MACS ARE SMART – they MAKE SENSE, which WINOWS does not – a Mac will have your work saved for you – if it does crash it will reopen it!! WOOOHOOOO

I now have a massive Imac and a Macbook Pro – my babies…..this sounds corny, but it is OH so true… the old adage is

Once you go MAC, you’ll NEVER go BACK

USING MAC AS AN INTERNET MARKETER….

Well, simply put, purely due to the consistent ease of everything I do, easy graphics in Microsoft programs, easy and QUICK video editing, the Time Machine function (this is a great addition to a MAC where you get consistent back up- it allows you to access files, for those of us  who sometimes delete things by mistake) – the Mac get’s a plus on every level.

As an Internet Marketer, the only frustrations I have had with the Mac have been the following:

Can not run friend adder programs……

Hmm, that’s it – oh and MicroNiche finder is only set up for Windows.

But here’s the thing – MOST DECENT programs will run on Mac OR there will be a MAC alternative – ie – Camtasia Studio is replaced by SCREENFLOW ALTERNATIVELY, there are programs such as Parallels and Fusion (fusion has a free trial) which will install a virtual operating system on to your mac – so that you can still use Windows, if you want.

I have been Mac for almost a year exactly now and still don’t have it, but will be doing it – because it is frustrating to want to do something and not be able to. But in all seriousness, these things are teeny tiny, because the happiness my Mac’s bring, ease of use and friendliness – FAR OUTWEIGH any negatives. If my house was on fire – the first thing I would take would be my Mac!

MAC WINS, Kat loves her MAC

MAC WINS, Kat loves her MAC

My other fav thing about Macbook – is the scrolling functions and Expose function – makes life SO EASY!

BUYING THE MAC

I really also want to give Mac Worx Joondalup (based in Perth Western Australia) a plug – they know good old fashioned customer service! I have since recommended others to them. Because I live remote I had to buy my Mac sight unseen – I did my research and got quotes – the online apple store will PRICE MATCH – but the customer service provided by these guys was second to none – I still buy here even if it costs a little more because they are SO HELPFUL!

Dominating your Home Business

November 11, 2008

The bottom line of home business domination is that people only want to follow leaders. Regardless of where you are at right now; you have value to offer.

Remember you are the CEO of your own company YOU INC – you need to put a value on yourself and what you have to offer. Would Bill Gates pay for a cab for someone to go see him? Would Richard Branson spend a whole day giving you his time for FREE? No! and neither should you!

The important thing is to put that across during any relationship building / prospecting phone calls. Being passionate about what you are involved with makes a HUGE difference as does having great posture and smiling whilst you’re talking to people.

Many successful recruiters use forums and free networking sites such as facebook, myspace etc to build relationships and introduce people to their business models, wearing a smile even when you type does make a difference to how what you’re saying is perceived – sounds silly i know but just try it and then re-read your conversation!

If you have never recruited a home business partner before – they don’t need to know that – utilise what you have to work with – the team surrounding you – the tools you have access to!

The Success Zone group is invite only; if you haven’t yet built a web presence and you are still working on it – you can always invite people here to start forming a relationship. Get active in the room – practice being a leader – do blog posts, post videos, share what you have – remember it is all about perception.

So what?

You haven’t recruited a single person yet – you haven’t got personally introduced team members – well guess what – you’re in here and i am your business partner….. there so use it – i have a blog – i have a youtube channel, myspace, you name it…. and this is where you will get to but you need to make a start.

No – the whole attraction maketing thing isn’t the be all and end all – but think about this… how much difference does it make to you when you’re speaking to someone and you know something about them, you have seen some of the stuff they do – it rules out a lot of negative you could have if you don’t know the person from a bar of soap right?! The purpose of attraction marketing put pure and simply – is to

a) Establish yourself as an authority on what it is you’re doing

b) Create relationships with people who are wanting what you offer

Â

YOU AS LEADER = PROBLEM SOLVER

People come to you with a problem and you offer a solution – if you let someone talk long enough they will tell you everything they want – if you are asking the right questions…. which brings me to the next point – prospecting When you are speaking to potential business partners try and not say too much – i really sucked at this in the beginning and anyone who has ever spoken to me would obviously understand why!

The idea is to lead the conversation – but not say too much – let the P.B.P do all the talking; take notes and find the hot buttons. A great book detailing this is questions are the answers by Alan Pease Questions are the Answers

another leader in the industry is one of the MOST AMAZING WOMEN I HAVE EVER LISTED TO- Dani Johnson – this ladies wisdom changed my life! you can find her at http://danijohnson.com - she puts the mo in to mojo – if you take 5 to listen to her speak you’ll understand it!

Why are so many people failing online?

October 20, 2008

Sheesh – well where do i begin?

What i teach my students is to self brand and establish themselves as leaders – in a competitive industry such as network marketing – only the leaders will make it – and the people who just don’t get it – will keep jumping around from business to business, website to website, looking for that magic bullet – the one thing that will have them making money over night.

The student isn’t entirely to blame for this – one of the biggest problems is that

a) there are so many unqualified people in this industry – that so many sponsors do not last and

b) the coach has never been trained to coach

therefor; what we have is a vicious cycle.

What I teach and emphasize is to have a long term mentality. Setting up a strong foundation and learning what is necessary to become a success story – doesn’t happen overnight and it is not easy; the techniques are simple but they take time and dedication.

One guy who really gets it and has some of the most valuable content available on the internet today is Mike Dillard – here he gives away some of the hottest secrets and tips in to growing your downline.

Mike has also written some great guides called Magnetic Sponsoring and Building on a Budget

I teach these kind of techniques in my room ‘In the Success Zone’ - which is entirely free -

so many people don’t realise that the success stories are not nearly as successful as they seem – so many of the big names took up to 10 years to truly ‘get it’ – to learn what it took to go from marketer to product creator and leader.

The point is you have to start somewhere. I started with barely any internet skills – it took me 6 months to find someone to show me about subdomains; auto responders and lead capture pages…. holy cow – i had no idea they even existed. I was so sure my business opportunity was going to make me a millionaire overnight – just like so many others who start out.

What people fail to realise – is that working on line is a REAL BUSINESS and one of the REAL PROBLEMS is that so many people treat it like it’s not serious at all…. when in fact it has the power to set you financially free…

I believe

a) first you learn

b) then you earn and

if you can help enough other people get started  – well then you’re well on your way to success!

Teaching others can skyrocket our own personal success – becoming a teacher is priceless – and sometimes u just gotta do it for free to get started….

I know one thing for sure – if you stay focused on your goal, take your business seriously and commit yourself to learning new skills – you will succeed and it won’t be a matter of ‘if’ but when.
