Well, here poses the BIG QUESTION – Is there a “RIGHT” Way to Make Money Online?
I started out a little over 4 years ago on a mission to create an online income. I wanted financial freedom, I wanted to get out of the ‘RAT RACE’ and I was prepared to lay it all on the line to do so. My motivating factors went far beyond money; to me an Internet Business would allow me the freedom to work from wherever I wanted, the luxury to be able to be a full time stay at home mum plus the financial freedom to live a life without limits – I guess ultimately to me it meant TIME, LIFE AND MONETARY FREEDOM!
I actually started out in an MLM, I didn’t actually intend to start an online business right at the beginning, it actually occurred because my opportunity was online based and then one thing lead to another and quite swiftly I was exposed to a large variety of options for making money online. Quite literally, it turned me in to an obsessed maniac. I bought everything I could get my hands on, studied and studied and studied some more – learning about affiliate marketing, information creation and marketing, blogging, membership sites – the list goes on. About the only thing I didn’t do was attempt to form a full time income eBay shop (however, the thought did cross my mind on multiple occasions).
THEN IT HAPPENED – I DISCOVERED THE RIGHT WAY TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE!
The day the answer hit me, it floored me! I found the long awaited answer – I realised I had to stop buying and start selling. Incredibly profound, isn’t it – NOT! I think through complete information overload, trudging the trenches looking for the BEST way – it stopped me from ever starting in any way shape of form, forever doubting that I knew enough, or would get it RIGHT! I was so scared of failure I never finished a darn thing I started! I SO WISH I could have prepared myself for failure sooner and just started finishing projects!
THE RIGHT WAY
There are many many options, and the truth is there is no ‘RIGHT WAY’. You may be more successful with some strategies than others, you may be more successful in some niches than others,
the ‘RIGHT WAY’ ultimately -Is the way that suits you
and it’s probably going to be a combination of many thing’s. For me; it’s blogging because I love to write, but I also combine it with affiliate marketing, video marketing and ultimately product creation.
Let’s look at blogging as a chashflow strategy for a moment, as an example; the point to blogging when blogging for an income is to:
a) build relationships
b) build credibility
c) inadvertently sell whatever it is you’re selling – ie to attract a target audience, gain their trust and confidence and then allow them to make up their own mind about whether they buy from you or not – BUT
Is it necessary?
Can you still have the same success with blatant marketing straight to sales pages?
Well, YES and NO – depends on your strategy, these days people are building blogs to promote affiliate products; as it’s no longer possible to direct link to an affiliate product, you actually need to put together a content rich website with site map etc to sell other people’s products, back in the day you used to be able to run a google ad straight to someone else’s product, then Google cottoned on to it and moved the goal posts (as they do). Therefor people started using blogs for the purpose of affiliate marketing and direct selling; BECAUSE they could run Google ad campaigns.
Not to mention, blogs are much more likely to get ranked in the search engines a whole lot quicker than a standard website – but I will save this for the next article!
Make Money Online Strategies Explained:
Affiliate Marketing: Basically in layman’s terms, this means you sell other people’s products and get paid a commission of the sale which is generally 50% or more. So let’s say you have a website based around Raising Children or Personal Training; you can go to other websites; referred to as a “Market Place” and register to sell other people’s products, then find products to suit.
You could write a review off of your website and get paid a commission on every sale that is derived via your own personal link (quite a powerful method as people are more likely to trust a ‘friend’ or the opinion of a well respected ‘expert’ ) – even websites like AMAZON have affiliate programs; it’s pretty much possible to find something to sell for just about any niche.
People also set up complete blogs for the purpose of affiliate marketing. They select a niche, blog articles and intertwine reviews etc.
Product Creation: As it sounds, people create products for the marketplace; it could be software, ebooks, reports, courses, audio etc and THEN find AFFILIATES to promote their products or sell them themselves (or combine both).
Membership Sites: Many people are now turning towards Membership Site creation, as having a subscription based product provides a recurring income; which is great as you know a base figure of what you will earn month in and month out.
Advertising Sites: Think realestate.com.au – carsales.com.au different directory listing type sites
Blogging: Ok, basically a blog is a website on steroids, user friendly, exceptionally powerful and can be made to look like a website or a blog (like this site.) The basic principles of blogging for an income is that you will select a niche – preferably a passion or something you have first hand knowledge in and then you write stories about that topic and include referrals to your own or other people’s products and sell advertising to make money. The reason blogging has become so popular; is that the age of recommendation is here – AND – a blog is a powerful way for you to share whatever it is you’re passionate about. The way Social Media has EXPLODED across the web means that the way people buy has changed somewhat also.
A blog is the hub of all Social Media activity. You should NEVER sell via your Social Media channels, the purpose of these is to grow credibility, a reputation an audience and drive all traffic back to your website / blog for the purpose of selling. Does that make sense? Promoting and selling can be 2 different thing’s – the bottom line is though – you will be promoting thing’s that resonate with you and your niche – so for all intended purposes you show people that you know what you know on a topic inside Social Media channels, raise their awareness, people are curious by nature and they go visit your blog or website to find out more about you.
I SINCERELY HOPE THAT TODAY’S BLOG POST has helped you in some way.
